Housing Information & Resources NC Homeowner Assistance Fund Established through the American Rescue Plan of 2021, the NC Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) was created for homeowners in North Carolina to help prevent mortgage delinquencies, defaults, displacements and foreclosures due to COVID-19. HOPE Program The Housing Opportunities and Prevention of Evictions Program (HOPE) provides rent and utility assistance to very low-income renters that are experiencing financial hardship due to the economic impacts of COVID-19. The program helps prevent evictions and utility disconnections to promote housing stability during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Find Your Program The NC HOPE application period closed December 17, 2021. There are nonprofit organizations and churches in some areas that can assist with rent and utilities. NC 211 may also have information on a local program that can help you.
