Our Mission

North Carolina Pandemic Recovery Office

The North Carolina Pandemic Recovery Office (NCPRO) was established in May 2020 to oversee and coordinate the fiscal response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission is to ensure North Carolina recovers from the Coronavirus pandemic stronger, more resolved, and more resilient.

Regional and statewide insights from North Carolina Pandemic Recovery Focus Groups are now available. NCPRO is proud to have partnered with the UNC School of Government's ncIMPACT Initiative to conduct this research. 

WATCH: Rebuilding NC's Hospitality Industry

Restaurants and hotels were especially vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19. To help rebuild the industry, North Carolina lawmakers appropriated $5 million in federal American Rescue Plan funds to launch a successful workforce recruitment campaign called Serving Careers. It's since led to over 680,000 applications to help fill jobs in all 100 counties.

Data from the NC Community Engagement Survey is now available through an interactive dashboard. The two-year research initiative measured and compared topics related to community wellbeing through monthly and quarterly surveys. See how your region scored.
